The Silvy Photograph Activity was created
by
Cogapp
to be housed in a permanent exhibition at the NPG Bodelwyddan Castle.
Camille Silvy ran a portrait studio in London producing
cartes-de-visite , the small, calling card-sized photographs invented
by André Adolphe-Eugène Disdéri in 1854. His
photographs often featured the main subject surrounded by an assortment
of obscure props and dramatic backdrops.
The touch screen interactive allows users to recreate
Silvy's process and design their own digital cartes-de-visite to
email to their friends and family.
Complete with a replica sepia fade, a choice of
alpine ranges, regal staircases and dragable ships, cockerels and
dogs the emphasis focused on the balance of education and fun and
allows a range of users to experience the theater of the Silvy legend.
