Whilst at Startle I produced a Flash
promo for the release of Depeche Mode's single Dream On.
With the emergence of Broadband Mute had begun to
recognise the potential of the web as a major tool for promotion
on their artists. In particular, Depeche Mode with it's committed
fan base had a number of smaller web forums and fanzine sites hyping
the release of the long awaited Exciter album.
To add to the extensive catalogue of video releases
and open source premixes from the album, this Broadband Flash promo
was released as exclusive content for the DM fan.
Rather than attempting to copy the rich concept
from the broadcast video, a more graphical, linear treatment was
chosen to work within the restrictions of Flash, but allow the theme
of the work to remain consistent.
In addition to this Flash promo a set a DM
20 Years interactive timeline was produced by the magic hand of
Mr
Amo Bassan and Art Direction was undertaken
by the radical junglist Mr
Simon Tickner.
